Role Description

We are seeking a Senior Jira Analytics & Dashboard Engineer to design and implement an enterprise-wide agile analytics and reporting platform. This role will replace manual reporting with data-driven, automated insights across delivery performance, schedule health, capacity, quality, and financial metrics. You will build scalable dashboards and predictive analytics solutions using Jira and Atlassian tools, enabling leadership and delivery teams to make real-time, data-backed decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and deliver enterprise-level Jira dashboards and analytics solutions
• Build automated reporting frameworks for:
  • Schedule variance & delivery tracking
  • Forecasting completion dates (throughput-based)
  • Capacity planning & utilization
  • Quality, defects, and rework trends
  • Budget and cost tracking
• Implement predictive and historical analytics using Jira + external data sources
• Integrate tools including:
  • Jira Automation
  • ScriptRunner
  • eazyBI
  • Tempo
  • Power BI Connector
  • Custom Charts
  • Rich Filters
• Develop advanced metrics such as:
  • Velocity trends
  • Burndown/burnup
  • MTTR
  • Bottleneck analysis
  • Estimate accuracy & time performance indexes
• Configure Atlassian Rovo (AI capabilities) for insights and reporting narratives
• Ensure all analytics are:
  • Accurate, traceable, and repeatable
  • Fully documented and audit-ready
• Support UAT, stakeholder validation, and knowledge transfer

Qualifications

• 8+ years: Jira Software administration (enterprise environments – Cloud)
• 8+ years: Jira analytics & reporting (JQL-driven insights)
• 5+ years: Advanced dashboarding & metrics design in Jira
• Strong experience with:
  • JavaScript / TypeScript (Atlassian Forge)
  • REST APIs & integrations
  • Tempo (timesheets, cost, planner)
• Hands-on expertise with:
  • ScriptRunner (Groovy + HAPI)
  • Smart Values & Jira Expressions
  • eazyBI (MDX)
  • Power BI (DAX + Jira connectors)
• Experience working in large, multi-team environments

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting PMO / portfolio-level reporting
• Knowledge of:
  • Earned Value Management (EVM)
  • Schedule variance & forecasting models
• Exposure to predictive analytics & throughput-based forecasting

Minimum Requirements

• 8 years: Administering and extending Jira Software in enterprise environments (Cloud)
• 8 years: Jira analytics or enterprise delivery reporting experience using JQL
• 5 years: Designing advanced Jira analytics, metrics, and dashboards using Jira Software Cloud
• 5 years: Using JavaScript/TypeScript Atlassian Forge apps; understanding integration logic and REST handling
• 4 years: Integrating Tempo (timesheets, planner, cost) and other external data sources using APIs (REST)
• 4 years: Using Groovy + HAPI with scripted fields and derived metrics; workflow validators; listeners; post functions
• 4 years: Using Smart Values & Expression logic for data calculations and math; conditional logic; linked issues
• 3 years: Designing advanced dashboards and calculated metrics with eazyBI for Jira using MDX
• 3 years: Using DAX for PowerBI modeling and experience using Jira connectors
• 3 years: Prior work in large, multi-team and public sector environments

Preferred Experience

• 5 years: Experience supporting PMO and portfolio level reporting and metrics
• 3 years: Earned-value and schedule variance concepts
• 3 years: Predictive analytics and throughput-based forecasting
