Role Description
As a Security Lead at Afresh, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding our organization's digital assets and ensuring the security of our systems, processes, and data. This is a leadership position where you will develop and implement effective security strategies, collaborate with various teams across the company, and drive initiatives to protect us from security risks.
- Develop and implement effective security strategies and processes to protect the company from security risks.
- Be a key input into quarterly planning and drive prioritization for security work.
- Lead execution of security projects, breaking down work, and effectively delegating tasks.
- Represent the company to customers and communicate effectively.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration of security requirements into business processes and projects.
- Conduct regular security assessments and audits, including leading the Type II SOC 2 audits annually.
- Assess potential risks and vulnerabilities, investigate security incidents, and reinforce appropriate measures to mitigate them.
- Conduct security architecture reviews and make recommendations.
- Evangelize and foster a culture of security awareness across the company.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in Security Engineering or similar.
- Experience being a Team Lead across the organization.
- Prior experience with Security for Cloud Infrastructure/Kubernetes.
- Demonstrated effective collaboration with cross-functional teams, actively fostering a culture of security awareness, and supporting the development of security solutions that impact larger projects.
- Exhibits excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possesses expert-level knowledge in their specialty field and the security technology stack.
- Expert understanding of industry standards and how they apply to Afresh.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar (preferred).
