Role Description
This role involves performing independent safety audits and counter-signing all Safety Assessments produced for the AirC2 developed baselines.
- Confirm specified safety objectives are appropriate and compliant with established policies and processes.
- Validate that project safety objectives are unambiguously defined, testable, and adequately covered in engineering, verification & validation, and test activities.
- Review Software Safety Assessment/Safety Case produced by the AirC2 Safety Engineer for compliance with defined safety-related plans, requirements, standards, and legal regulations.
- Record review results and provide recommendations for corrective, preventive, and improvement measures.
- Independently audit AirC2 Centre processes against IEC 61508 and DS 00-55 and produce an audit report.
- Maintain a high level of competence in System Safety Engineering and Human Factors.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree at a nationally recognized/certified university in a related discipline and 5 years’ post-related experience; or a Bachelor’s degree at a nationally recognized/certified university in a related discipline and 8 years’ post-related experience.
Requirements
- Recent practical experience in safety analyses in the field of system and/or software safety.
- Practical experience in system architecture, design, or software development on safety-critical systems.
- Knowledge of Safety Engineering Theory (e.g., IEC61508, Mil-Std 882, UK Def Std 00-55).
- Experience with occupational hazards related to equipment and installation.
- Knowledge of Air Operations and risk management principles.
- Professional certifications in Functional Safety, Health & Safety, or System/Software Development.
