Role Description

This role involves preparing and submitting permit applications to Local, State, and Federal Agencies, as well as obtaining private easements. The Right-of-Way Agent will work closely with the engineers and design team to ensure projects stay on track by lining up permits/easements and expediting the process for all parties.

  • Reviews engineering drawings and construction sheets for cabling and remote site ROW acquisition.
  • Determines what permits and private easements will be required to submit ROW applications successfully.
  • Negotiates the acquisition of right of way and other property interests as needed to accommodate the construction, operation, and maintenance of client facilities.
  • Verifies and updates client records in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Serves as a liaison between clients, cities, and counties, among other parties.
  • Tracks all pending permits/easements through the review process while effectively communicating the status of each permit/easement.
  • Tracks and manages permits and easements for multiple projects concurrently.
  • Maintains a professional and courteous relationship with permitting agencies and third-party sub-consultants.
  • Documents and processes all plan revisions and coordinates timeframe requirements.
  • Represents the company in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Supports the Engineering department with associated administrative duties.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two years’ experience in ROW for telecom.
  • Knowledge of the permitting process, including landowner communications and notification process.
  • Knowledge of all aspects of right-of-way, including title research, document preparation, due diligence, negotiation and acquisition, permitting, operation, and public relations.
  • Thorough understanding of telecommunication system objectives and construction techniques.
  • Strong technical skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detailed and in-depth understanding of various permit industry knowledge.
  • Proficiency and ability to utilize computer software programs, including spreadsheet, word processing, database, AutoCAD, Google Earth, and PDF applications.
  • Effective interpersonal skills with the ability to work with personnel at all levels, both within and outside the company.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail with excellent follow-through skills.

Requirements

  • Travel is required. We do not offer company vehicles, but you will be paid for mileage.
