Role Description

The Risk and Safety Consultant will provide loss control and workplace safety consultation and OSHA compliance guidance to clients of varying sizes and complexities. This position requires a good knowledge of occupational safety, knowledge of occupational health, and a working knowledge of state and/or Federal OSHA compliance regulations.

• Effectively evaluate the client's worksite to determine workplace hazards.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of workplace hazard controls.
• Provide recommendations to improve hazard control and workplace safety efforts.
• Assist clients with OSHA compliance and safety documentation needs.
• Provide onsite safety awareness training as mandated by OSHA regulations.
• Assist clients with accident investigation protocols and loss analysis.
• Provide virtual safety awareness training to increase product/service penetration and client retention.
• Conduct onsite risk and safety evaluations at prospective client locations.
• Support the Risk Audit team by providing information needed to properly class code client employees.
• Work collaboratively with Client Service teams including HR and Sales.

Qualifications

• Ability to travel within Westchester County and the Bronx (and sometimes Manhattan) 3-4 days a week.
• 3-5 years of safety consulting or practical loss control experience.
• Appropriate job experience as a safety professional.
• Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Risk Management, or Related Field (appropriate experience may substitute for education requirements).
• Current Associate Safety Professional (ASP), Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Associate Risk Management (ARM), or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) required.

Requirements

• Provide onsite safety consultation services to prospective clients.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the client's controls of hazards and exposures.
• Provide guidance on applicable OSHA regulations and requirements for compliance.
• Create and provide written recommendations to clients.
• Assist clients with the implementation of safety plans.
• Develop, modify, and present safety awareness training at client facilities.
• Document results of all client interactions using eRFP or RAMS.
• Provide timely support to the PEO sales District Managers.
• Participate in special projects assigned by the Director of Loss Control or designee.
• Interface with internal associates to assist with specific client issues related to Safety and Loss Prevention.
