Role Description

The Risk Engineering Manager is responsible to contribute to corporate goals of growth and profitability through the active participation in the account acquisition and retention process.

• Manages a team of multiline or property field engineers to ensure work performed, completed, and submitted is quality controlled to the highest standards.
• Ensures that production goals and turnaround time on reports of staff meet or exceed established goals.
• Completes joint field visits with field engineers to provide quality control and guidance to improve their overall working skills.
• Manages the subcontractor process in assigning work, ensuring due dates are met and quality control of reports.
• Collaborates with the management team regularly and provides critical input to ensure the success of the team and the company.
• Establishes focused risk improvement processes by ensuring field engineers are establishing service plans on large accounts that focus on key loss sources.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree from a four-year college or university is required.
• 7-10 years of insurance and general industry loss prevention experience is required.
• 3-5 years of previous supervision or management experience.
• Experience should include working knowledge of sprinkler plan reviews, Life Safety Codes (NFPA 101), NFPA 13, and Factory Mutual guidelines.
• Strong experience in assessing complex risks including chemical and automotive industry-related operations.
• Experience with moderate to large-sized industrial or warehousing operations.

Requirements

• Manages a staff of 5 in the Risk Engineering Department.
• Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees.
• Planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Benefits

• The anticipated salary range for this position is $175,000 to $190,000, based on relevant experience, skills, and overall qualifications.
