Role Description

Leads the execution of Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs and initiatives across an assigned region, serving as a strategic partner to operations and a key resource for facility leadership. Provides both hands-on operational support and strategic leadership to strengthen EHS performance, reduce organizational risk, and ensure alignment with corporate standards and objectives. Supports facilities through site engagement, project reviews, incident response, risk assessments, and implementation of EHS initiatives while driving standardization, best practice sharing, governance, and execution of the regional and global EHS roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides direct EHS support to manufacturing and operational facilities through routine site visits, assessments, audits, and leadership engagement.
• Partners with facility and regional leadership teams to improve EHS performance, strengthen safety culture, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conducts EHS reviews of capital projects, equipment installations, process modifications, and operational changes to ensure risks are identified and effectively managed.
• Supports Engineering Project Approval Reviews (EPAR), Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), commissioning activities, startup reviews, and operational readiness assessments to ensure EHS requirements are integrated into project execution.
• Responds to significant incidents and high-risk events by providing remote and on-site support for investigations, root cause analysis, corrective action development, and verification of effectiveness.
• Provides technical guidance and coaching to facility leadership, EHS professionals, engineers, and operational teams on regulatory requirements, hazard recognition, risk management, and EHS best practices.
• Supports implementation of corporate, regional, and facility-level EHS initiatives, programs, campaigns, and improvement projects.
• Assists facilities in identifying compliance risks and developing sustainable corrective actions to address audit findings, incidents, inspections, and regulatory requirements.
• Reviews EHS performance data, leading indicators, and risk metrics to identify trends, prioritize improvement opportunities, and support proactive risk reduction efforts.
• Supports regulatory inspections, customer audits, and other external engagements as needed.
• Facilitates sharing of lessons learned, leading practices, and successful EHS initiatives across facilities to improve consistency and organizational learning.
• Drives execution of the regional and global EHS roadmap by translating strategic priorities into actionable plans and measurable results.
• Partners with global and regional EHS leaders to deploy standards, management systems, governance processes, and performance expectations across the region.
• Identifies opportunities to standardize EHS processes, tools, and practices to improve effectiveness, efficiency, and consistency.
• Collaborates with Operations, Engineering, Quality, Human Resources, and Supply Chain teams to integrate EHS principles into core business processes and projects.
• Supports the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS standards, procedures, guidance documents, and management system requirements.
• Coaches and develops facility EHS resources and operational leaders to strengthen organizational capability and accountability.
• Monitors emerging regulatory requirements, industry trends, and best practices, providing recommendations to enhance EHS programs and organizational performance.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Typically possesses 10 or more years of progressive EHS experience within manufacturing, industrial, packaging, or related operational environments.
• Demonstrated experience supporting multiple facilities, business units, or geographic locations within a regional or multi-site organization.
• Proven experience leading incident investigations, risk assessments, audits, compliance initiatives, and operational improvement efforts.
• Experience supporting capital projects, equipment reviews, machine safety programs, contractor safety management, and process risk assessments preferred.
• Professional certifications such as CSP, CIH, CHMM, ISO Lead Auditor, or equivalent are preferred.

Requirements

• Strong knowledge of EHS regulations, standards, and risk management principles applicable to manufacturing and industrial operations.
• Demonstrated ability to identify operational risks and implement practical solutions that improve safety performance and regulatory compliance.
• Strong understanding of incident investigation methodologies, root cause analysis, corrective action management, and continuous improvement practices.
• Knowledge of machine safety, contractor safety, energy control, risk assessments, and operational hazard control strategies.
• Ability to evaluate capital projects, equipment installations, and process changes for EHS risks and compliance considerations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to leverage data and leading indicators to drive performance improvement.
• Proven ability to influence leaders and colleagues across all organizational levels through effective communication and relationship building.
• Strong coaching, facilitation, and leadership skills with the ability to develop capability within both EHS and operational teams.
• Working knowledge of EHS management systems, governance frameworks, auditing processes, and performance measurement programs.
• Ability to balance strategic priorities with hands-on operational support in a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
• Demonstrated capability to drive standardization, best practice sharing, and organizational learning across multiple facilities.
• Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, EHS information systems, reporting platforms, and data analysis tools.

Location and Travel

• Remote or field-based position within the assigned region.
• Regular travel to manufacturing and operational facilities is required.
• Travel is expected to range from approximately 50% to 70%, depending on business needs, project activity, incident response requirements, and regional support responsibilities.
• Occasional travel outside the assigned region may be required to support enterprise initiatives, training events, audits, or strategic projects.

Compensation Range

The pay range for this position is €58,400.00 - €99,400.00 annually. Typically, a competitive wage for new hires will fall between €60,000.00 to €78,000.00 annually. Offers for this position may vary based on market data and other factors such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and geographic location. The position may also be eligible for a short-term incentive.
