Role Description

This position is an in-office role located in West Bend, Madison or Appleton, WI. No remote opportunities for this position are available at this time.

• This position offers a hybrid work schedule. Candidates who are located within 50 miles of a West Bend office location will work a hybrid schedule for collaboration days, team meetings or other in-person events.
• This is a fully remote/work from home role where you will spend xx% of your time in the field, servicing the xxxxxx territory. On occasion, you may be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, training, and corporate events.
• This position offers both remote and hybrid work locations. Candidates who reside within 50 miles of an office location (West Bend, Madison, Appleton) will be offered a hybrid work schedule. Candidates who are fully remote (beyond 50 miles) may occasionally be asked to travel to an office location for in-person engagement activities such as team meetings, training, and corporate events.

Responsibilities include:

• Handle complex claims with minimal supervision and guidance from the manager.
• Utilize current Claims technology.
• Research and formulate a basis on which coverage decisions will be made.
• Conduct thorough investigations, evaluate damages and liability.
• Negotiate settlements with insureds, claimants, and attorneys.
• Active file management, ensuring proper reserving.
• Participation in training activities.
• Presentation of claims to Committee and supervision of litigated files.
• Serve as a mentor for others in the team or department.
• Consistently exhibit a high level of customer service and adherence to department audit guidelines.

Qualifications

• Proficiency with computers and current technology.
• Interpersonal skills.
• Negotiation skills and problem-solving skills.
• Prior experience handling large and complex claims.
• Oral and written communication skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Insurance or related field.
• Associate in Claims designation.
• Associate in General Insurance designation.
• CPCU coursework or other continuing education.
