Role Description

The primary objective of the Department of Health Systems and Services is to strengthen health systems based on Primary Health Care, support the transformation of national health systems to improve equity and resilience, strengthen Primary Health Care (PHC), and address the relevant issues related to human resources as health systems move towards the achievement of Universal Health.

• Life course, women’s and children’s health
• Virtual Campus of Public Health

The Life Course Unit, Women’s and Children’s Health, leads technical cooperation to strengthen countries’ capacities to address health comprehensively across the life course.

• Implementing multidimensional, evidence-based strategies
• Coordinating and developing programs on maternal health
• Promoting integration within health systems and services
• Fostering generation and strategic use of information and evidence
• Contributing to the elimination of barriers to access and coverage

The objective of the Unit is to promote, strengthen, and improve countries’ capacities to design and implement comprehensive policies, strategies, and interventions based on the life course approach.

Qualifications

• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with strong attention to details.
• Strong motivation and organizational and management skills.
• Capable of being proactive when the situation requires.
• Advanced knowledge in the use of Excel and other data analytical tools, as well as Power Point, and Word.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure in a diverse, team-oriented environment.
• Experience working in multicultural environments.

Requirements

• At least 7-9 years of combined national and international experience in health planning, project management, monitoring and evaluation, or related field.
• A bachelor’s degree in business studies, health, or social science, or in any other field related to the functions of the post from a recognized university and a master’s degree in social science or public health.
• Fluent in written and spoken Spanish and English.

Benefits

• Maximum Contract Amount: USD $61,000.00
• Contract Duration: 06 January 2027 – 31 December 2027
• Part time - 95% of FTE – 38 Hrs/week
• Pay Type: Installments
