[Hiring] Program Assistant @State of Washington

Role Description

The WSDA Animal Services Division is dedicated to the protection, promotion, and enhancement of animal health, wellness, and wellbeing. This position provides higher-level administrative support to the program and coordinates, organizes, and/or directs the operation of major program activities including but not limited to:

• Administering the certified veterinarian and field livestock inspector programs
• Administering the Electronic Cattle Transaction Reporting (ECTR) System
• Content editor for the program's webpage on the WSDA website
• Responsible for payroll timekeeping for all field staff and two administrative staff in the program
• Serves as the lead for the program's records retention program
• Serves as the lead customer service representative for the program
• Supports legislative and rule-making activities for the livestock identification Program and the Animal Services Division

Qualifications

• A bachelor's degree including college level course work in statistics and/or mathematics
• One (1) year of experience working as a Data Consultant 1 or equivalent
• Equivalent education/experience

Requirements

• Ability to identify livestock terms and have a basic understanding of the livestock industry
• Prior lead or supervisory experience
• Knowledge of Animal Services RCW and WAC
• One (1) year experience with personal computers with word processing, spreadsheet, database, and email programs (Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• High school education or equivalent AND three years of progressively responsible experience in office/clerical, secretarial, bookkeeping, accounting, or general administrative work
