Role Description
The Pharmacist is responsible for providing services to client/patients of the CareMetx non-dispensing pharmacy. This is a part-time position with the potential to become full time. The Pharmacist aids in the overall compliance of the pharmacy license.
- Represent the Company in a professional and courteous manner in all job-related interactions.
- Adhere to state board of pharmacy guidelines (for all pharmacy licensed states) to ensure compliance with board of pharmacy and NCPDP requirements.
- Provide verbal clarifications/orders to dispensing pharmacies as needed.
- Ensure ongoing compliance with all laws and regulations; ensure that the pharmacy meets or exceeds accreditation standards; and implement ‘’best practices’’ in all pharmacy activities.
- Resolve pharmacy client/patient concerns and complaints, and provide pharmacy client/patient counseling as needed.
- Conduct patient profile monitoring as necessary.
- Ensure pharmacy prescriptions have been validated as per state board guidelines.
- Communicate with medical professionals with regard to client/patient status and response to medication, and when necessary to resolve client/patient issues.
- Interact with pharmaceutical manufacturers’ reps as needed to maintain current knowledge of pharmaceutical products and to manage changes to formulary.
- Manage pharmaceutical recalls, adverse events and product incidents for client program.
- Assume on-call responsibilities in accordance with Company guidelines.
- Participate in surveys conducted by authorized inspection agencies.
- Manage pharmacy technicians to ensure day to day pharmacy activities are meeting company and pharmacy standards.
- Participate in the Company’s Performance Management program.
- Aid in the pharmacy quality audits to ensure pharmacy quality of services.
- Participate in Company committees when requested.
- Pursue continuing education programs appropriate to job responsibilities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Pharmacist in Charge.
Qualifications
- Degree from an accredited pharmacy college
- Valid state pharmacist license
- Requires pharmacy broad knowledge and training in the fields of healthcare, specialty pharmacy and reimbursement
- Requires a minimum two (2) years of healthcare experience
- At least five (2) years in a progressive management role
- A minimum experience in the pharmacy industry is required
- Dynamic leader who can energize multidisciplinary work teams to learn and apply new skills and/or techniques to respond to the business needs
- Willingness to obtain a Texas State Board of Pharmacy license or any other states needed, if elected for the position
Requirements
- Ability to organize and plan the activities of subordinates, and to delegate appropriately.
- Pharmacy Degree and State Licensure.
- Certifications as required for license.
- Current knowledge of all applicable state and federal pharmacy laws, rules and regulations.
- Must have an active Pharmacist license in Texas
- Must be available for shifts between 8am-8pm EST M-F
- Some weekends
