Role Description

We are looking for a Director, Payment Intelligence to help some of the world's leading airlines, online travel agencies and hotel groups unlock hidden value within their payments ecosystem. This is a highly consultative, client-facing role where you'll combine deep payments expertise with strong commercial and analytical skills. Working directly with client transaction, cost and performance data, you'll identify opportunities, build robust business cases and help senior stakeholders understand exactly how they can improve payments performance, reduce costs and drive revenue. Your Team

This role sits within our commercial and consulting function and works closely with Payment Strategy, Customer Success, Sales, Product and Delivery teams.

• Partner directly with senior client stakeholders across Finance, Treasury, Technology, Payments and Commercial teams.
• Act as a trusted advisor and subject matter expert throughout the customer journey.

Responsibilities

• Lead client-facing payment performance diagnostics across acquiring, interchange, scheme fees, FX, authorisation, declines, 3DS/SCA and payment methods.
• Analyse transaction, cost and commercial data to identify opportunities for optimisation and commercial improvement.
• Benchmark client performance against relevant travel, airline and large merchant peer groups.
• Develop robust ROI models across areas such as authorisation uplift, interchange optimisation, soft decline recovery and FX savings.
• Build detailed business cases and strategic recommendations supported by data and commercial analysis.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior client stakeholders, including Finance, Treasury, Technology and Payments teams.
• Act as the primary payments subject matter expert during consulting engagements.
• Validate findings and recommendations with client stakeholders to ensure alignment and credibility.
• Contribute to the ongoing development of CellPoint Digital's payments intelligence methodologies, benchmarking capabilities and consulting frameworks.
• Support commercial teams by providing payment expertise during customer discussions and strategic engagements.

Experience

• 6+ years of experience within payments consulting, payment strategy, acquiring, merchant payments, PSPs or payment optimisation environments.
• Strong understanding of interchange, scheme fees, payment economics and merchant acquiring models.
• Experience analysing transaction-level data and identifying opportunities to improve payment performance.
• Proven ability to develop ROI models and commercial business cases using real customer data.
• Experience presenting complex analytical findings to senior stakeholders and executive audiences.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to connect data insights to business outcomes.
• Ability to balance analytical rigour with practical recommendations that drive measurable value.
• Excellent communication, stakeholder management and consulting skills.
• Experience working within fast-paced, client-facing environments.

Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of card payments, acquiring and payment optimisation.
• Strong understanding of authorisation performance, decline management and payment acceptance.
• Knowledge of interchange, scheme fees, FX and payment costs.
• Experience building financial models and quantifying commercial opportunities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate complex payments concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience engaging with senior stakeholders and decision-makers.

Desirable

• Experience within airline, OTA, hospitality or travel payments environments.
• Understanding of BSP, ARC and GDS settlement processes.
• Experience working with high-volume card-not-present transaction environments.
• Knowledge of alternative payment methods and global payment ecosystems.
• Previous consulting or advisory experience within payments or financial services.
