Role Description

We are seeking an experienced Manufacturing LAN Planning and Delivery Manager to lead the planning, governance, and coordinated delivery of wired and wireless LAN services for Ford manufacturing plants. In this role, you will translate plant programs, operational requirements, and technology needs into executable network plans that support production milestones without compromising safety, security, quality, or service continuity.

This role requires strong leadership, technical network knowledge, operational discipline, and the ability to coordinate across various teams.

Responsibilities

  • Leadership & Portfolio Governance
    • Own the Manufacturing LAN planning portfolio and establish clear priorities.
    • Lead and develop LAN planners while coordinating with various teams.
    • Create transparent plans, milestones, dependencies, risks, and executive reporting.
    • Manage supplier performance and financial tracking.
    • Facilitate governance and planning forums.
    • Balance competing priorities across business-critical launches and site operations.
    • Establish consistent planning standards and performance expectations.
  • Plant Network Planning & Delivery Readiness
    • Direct site assessments and requirements discovery.
    • Ensure plant plans incorporate all required network infrastructure elements.
    • Coordinate network readiness with construction schedules and production milestones.
    • Work with site teams to identify risks and dependencies early.
    • Define acceptance criteria for network installations.
    • Provide leadership during plant launches and major cutovers.
  • Manufacturing Technology Enablement
    • Partner with stakeholders to understand connectivity requirements.
    • Plan network solutions supporting various manufacturing applications.
    • Ensure plant network plans address high availability and security requirements.
    • Coordinate wireless needs, including coverage maps and capacity assumptions.
    • Evaluate new manufacturing use cases through appropriate processes.
  • Operational Resilience & Continuous Improvement
    • Review planned network changes for manufacturing risk.
    • Use data to identify recurring issues and prioritize remediation efforts.
    • Partner with teams to support troubleshooting and production recovery.
    • Improve planning standards and documentation quality.
    • Drive continuous improvement in network planning and operational handoff processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of network engineering and deployment experience.
  • Minimum of 2–3 years of experience working within manufacturing facilities.
  • Demonstrated experience leading infrastructure planning and network delivery.
  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and stakeholder-management capabilities.

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of enterprise wired LAN and wireless LAN planning.
  • Understanding of switching, routing fundamentals, and network segmentation.
  • Experience supporting high-availability, production-critical network environments.
  • Ability to evaluate and communicate network capacity and security requirements.
  • Experience with network change planning and production-impact assessments.
