[Hiring] Manager, Editorial and Membership Cultivation @Environmental Defense Fund

Role Description

Under the direction of the Senior Manager, Editorial and Member Cultivation, for Moms Clean Air Force, the Manager for Public Engagement is responsible for planning and managing coherent digital campaigns across membership and web tied to field and national priorities and programs.

• Manage membership consultant in the production of digital campaigns.
• Serve as field content liaison and producer, managing field content including systems, editing/writing/posting, and backend tagging/optimizing.
• Understand the importance of SEO and AEO and how to tag articles and resources.
• Track issues to maintain up-to-date, search-optimized program, issue, resource, and campaign webpages.
• Manage administrative processes for meetings, system flow, schedules, timelines, calendars, and connectivity to social media/audience development, comms, and grant deliverables.
• Manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Identify and develop relationships with key stakeholders in target industries to foster trust, gather information, develop project ideas, and recruit partners.
• Manage and support by overseeing budgets for project work, developing workplans, identifying and procuring necessary resources, project work, and deliverables.
• Lead and communicate various project goals and results to EDF staff, companies, policymakers, environmental groups, the media, and the public through reports, interviews, presentations, and other methods.
• Develop and apply appropriate means for measuring the success of Moms’ membership and editorial programs.
• Play an integral role in fundraising, evaluating and recommending new project ideas; disseminating and communicating project results; and being a team player in the development of a vibrant and entrepreneurial program.
• Manage, mentor, and support staff as the team grows.
• Participate in advancing EDF organizational effectiveness and culture goals in which people from all backgrounds and experiences feel connected, included, and empowered to address environmental and organizational challenges in alignment with EDF values.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a relevant field with at least 6 years of applicable experience. A Master’s degree or equivalent may substitute for up to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively manage teams toward the delivery of strong outcomes.
• Strong awareness of digital trends, consume social media daily and culture more broadly.
• Strong editor/writer with content management systems experience to conceive, manage, schedule, and write/edit coherent digital campaigns across membership and web tied to EPA dockets, federal legislation, and environmental justice programs.
• Possess a high degree of diplomacy to influence and manage key stakeholders and teams.
• Experience in collaboration, building effective coalitions, and working within diverse communities.
• Creativity, energy, and the ability to multi-task and get work done under pressure and respond quickly to changing opportunities.
• Strong and persuasive verbal and written communication skills.
• Presence, confidence, integrity, creativity, and a sense of humor.
• Ability and willingness to work as a strong team player, with a demonstrated capacity to work independently and as a self-starter.
• Highly proficient computer skills, including MS Office Outlook, Word, and Excel.
