[Hiring] Load Planning Specialist @Chemtrade

Role Description

The Load Planning Specialist has a key role in the Logistics Operations team supporting plant sites in the Water Chemicals Business. This role is responsible for the movement of finished goods from the operating plant to the customer and includes:

• Movement of purchased finished goods, raw materials, and equipment.
• Supporting the Chemtrade Logistics team by implementing data-based metrics to drive performance of the private fleet and common carriers.
• Working with plants, customer service, supply chain, and Logistics to ensure high customer satisfaction and continual improvement of the customer experience.
• Collaborating with Supply Chain to ensure safe delivery of goods to customers.

Qualifications

• Associate or bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Transportation, Business, or equivalent related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience with good working knowledge of chemical delivery, dispatching, and logistics.
• Experience with safety programs in an industrial facility preferred.
• Experience with a TMS (Transportation Management System) preferred.
• Technical knowledge of DOT/Federal Motor Carrier rules and regulations.

Requirements

• Dispatch regional private fleet drivers and balance loads at the site level.
• Dispatch common carrier deliveries and balance loads at the site level.
• Optimize loads between private fleet and common carrier at all responsible plants.
• Develop and maintain relationships with common carriers at the plant/dispatch level.
• Support Road Logistics Managers in monitoring and improving common carrier performance.
• Work with plant managers to ensure production capacity can meet load requirements.
• Work with customer service to ensure orders are spaced evenly throughout the week.
• Support Regional Driver Managers by identifying and communicating on driver performance.
• Analyze data to increase driver utilization and optimize performance of the private fleet.
• Work evenings or weekends to secure transportation capacity during plant shutdowns.
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers at a plant/dispatch level.
• Prepare paperwork for shipments daily.
• Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external partners.
• Participate in planning for outages/emergencies.
• Participate in incident investigation and closure of action items as required.
• Respond to EHS incidents through prompt and thorough reporting and investigation.
• Assist in tracking and communication of EHS performance metrics.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and mentoring to driving operations personnel.
• Support and develop strategies to implement company and plant goals and objectives.
• Maintain a working knowledge of company policies and applicable regulations.
• Keep assigned safety procedures and training materials up to date.
• Prepare assigned management reports.
• Accountable for cost control of daily work and fleet activities.
• Responsible for scheduling, pre-outage hazard preparation, and measurement metrics.
