Role Description

The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers professional development, leadership training, and meaningful work experience at non-profits tackling some of our nation's most pressing policy challenges all over the United States. Early-career professionals including undergraduate/graduate/law students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Eligible candidates will be geographically located in and authorized to work in the United States through the duration of the program.

Citizens Against Government Waste (CAGW) offers a wide variety of opportunities to college students across the country:

• Unpaid research, communications, and government affairs internships available year-round.
• Internships can vary in length from a semester to a few weeks.
• Interns can choose to work part-time or full-time with flexible hours.
• Daily work involves collaboration with Capitol Hill, the White House, and other nonprofit organizations.
• Interns participate in staff meetings and events, contributing substantively to projects.
• Clerical duties may be required, but much of the work will be substantive.

Legislative Internship:

• Assist CAGW’s policy staff with various aspects of the legislative process.
• Monitor hearings and summarize essential testimony and votes taken during committee meetings.
• Track legislation, regulations, and political activities concerning government waste issues.
• Research and develop legislative summaries.
• Attend various coalition meetings with other organizations.

Compensation:

• Stand Together Fellowships pays participants a stipend of either $7,500 for full-time participants working approximately 32 hours per week, or $5,500 for part-time participants working approximately 24 hours per week.
• Attendance at the entirety of the online and on-site KIP programming is required for both full and part-time participants.

• Geographically located in and authorized to work in the United States.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with staff members.
