[Hiring] International PAHO Consultant - Program Management Support @Pan American Health Organization

Role Description

This requisition is for a consultancy at the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO)/Regional Office of the World Health Organization (WHO).

• Provide technical support in the design, negotiation and implementation of technical cooperation projects, performance monitoring and assessment, and use of evaluation tools to support the sound management of regular funds and funds from other sources.
• Provide strategic support and inputs to develop new program initiatives to support the program of work.
• Support the preparation of technical reports, in coordination with the officer implementing the project/activities.
• Support the programmatic impact and ensure a high level of quality, accuracy of methods used to verify progress and the results.
• Facilitate the coordination among CIM team members and support them in program management issues, specifically with issues related to the results-based management framework.
• Act as liaison with staff in country offices implementing immunization funds to support planning, budgeting and reporting for activities at national level.

Qualifications

• Essential: A bachelor’s degree in health or social science from a recognized university.

Requirements

• Essential: At least five years of combined national and international experience in the fields of health planning, project management, monitoring, and evaluation, including experience in strategy formulation and strategic resource allocation.
• Very good knowledge of Spanish or English with a working knowledge of the other language. Knowledge of French and/or Portuguese would be an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively use current technology and software, spreadsheets, and presentations, as well as Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and management information systems.
• Other IT skills and knowledge of software programs such as Microsoft Excel, Outlook, OneDrive, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and Word are considered essential.

Benefits

• Duration: 6 months with the possibility of extension until 24 months, depending on satisfactory performance and the availability of financial resources.
• Remuneration: Band B: $258 (daily rate).
