Role Description

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is launching a research initiative aimed at generating robust evidence on the economics of migration in Albania. This project aims to:

• Adapt the established methodology developed by the Fondazione Leone Moressa (FLM) for Italy to the Albanian context.
• Produce a comprehensive, robust evidence-based analysis on migrants’ contribution to the national economy, including:
  • GDP
  • Labour market structure
  • Sectoral added-value
  • Fiscal impact
• Inform strategic planning and support policy dialogue at national and regional levels.
• Strengthen national migration governance and Albania’s efforts toward evidence-based policymaking.
• Provide a contextualized, point-in-time analysis of labour market dynamics.
• Frame findings and recommendations to inform ongoing policy dialogue and programme planning in support of long-term development priorities, including:
  • Labour market planning
  • Socioeconomic inclusion
  • The broader migration–development nexus

Qualifications

• Experience in migration studies or related fields.
• Strong analytical and research skills.
• Familiarity with economic analysis and data interpretation.
• Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.

Requirements

• Advanced degree in economics, social sciences, or a related field.
• Proven experience in conducting research and analysis.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Albanian is an advantage.
