[Hiring] Individual Consultant for the External Final Review of the MAWHIBA-UNESCO Online STEM Oasis Project @UNESCO

Role Description

The MAWHIBA–UNESCO Online STEM Oasis project is a joint initiative of Mawhiba and the UNESCO Regional Office in Beirut, aimed at strengthening extracurricular learning in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) for students in grades 7 to 12 in the Arab region, with a focus on girls’ participation.

• Project budget: USD 250,000
• First phase targets: Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, and the Syrian Arab Republic
• Components include:
  • Online portal featuring STEM videos and quizzes
  • Outreach materials
  • Stakeholder networks
  • National consultations
• Focus on gender equality, accessibility, and inclusion

Qualifications

• An advanced university degree in education, STEM education, evaluation, social sciences, or a related field.
• At least seven years of relevant professional experience in project reviews, evaluations, or applied programme research.
• Demonstrated application of qualitative and quantitative methods in at least two assignments.
• Experience in education, STEM learning, or digital learning.
• Knowledge of education systems in the Arab region.
• Experience integrating gender equality and human rights considerations.
• Excellent analytical writing and communication skills in English and Arabic.
• Confirmed availability to complete approximately 22 working days over 8–9 calendar weeks.
• No previous involvement in the design or implementation of the MAWHIBA–UNESCO Online STEM Oasis project.

Requirements

• Design and conduct the final review and deliver all agreed outputs.
• Prepare the inception report, review documentation, and conduct remote stakeholder consultations.
• Analyze and triangulate evidence, and prepare the preliminary findings presentation, draft report, and final report.
• Ensure informed consent, confidentiality, and secure handling of data.
• Address consolidated feedback while retaining responsibility for impartial analysis and findings.
