Role Description
The Graduate Intern for Student Staff Development will focus specifically on the areas of student development and professional development for approximately 35-40 student workers employed by the Cohon University Center. Core responsibilities include:
- Implement and oversee the CMU Grow Initiative and other initiatives focused on student staff development.
- Conduct assessment of the student staff experience focused on the areas of staff satisfaction, performance/development, and operational considerations.
- Coordinate ongoing training and development initiatives for student staff members specific to personal and professional development.
- Provide regular updates on progress and initiatives to Cohon University Center professional staff.
- Serve as a Building Supervisor for one shift per week, responsible for opening the building on Saturday mornings.
- Adaptability, excellence, and passion are vital qualities within Carnegie Mellon University.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- A combination of education and relevant experience from which comparable knowledge is demonstrated may be considered.
Requirements
- Applicants for this position must be currently legally authorized to work for CMU in the United States.
- CMU will not sponsor or take over the sponsorship of an employment visa for this opportunity.
- Carnegie Mellon is not a qualifying employer for the STEM OPT benefit: only the 12-month OPT may be used to work at Carnegie Mellon.
- This is a fixed-term position with an estimated duration of nine months.
