Role Description

The Global Director owns the Enterprise Laboratory Instrument Services (ELIS) program end to end across North America and Europe. The role is accountable for one operating model across both regions, contractual performance at program level, and the senior client relationship above site and regional level.

The program covers roughly 35,000 assets across twenty sites in five countries, on four systems of record, under two entirely different workforce transfer regimes.

What you will do:

• Program ownership:
  • Own one operating model across both regions, including intake, entitlement, dispatch, verification and payment.
  • Own program-level contractual performance against the master service agreement and every executed addendum.
  • Hold the program governance rhythm, including steering meetings, checkpoint reviews and executive reporting to the client.
  • Own the transition plan through to go-live and the stabilization period after it.
  • Own the global data standard for a single reporting position across four systems of record.
• Regional leadership:
  • Lead both Regional Directors of Operations and hold them to one set of standards.
  • Arbitrate where a regional constraint conflicts with the global model.
  • Own the global workforce position across both transfer regimes, partnering with Human Resources.
  • Own succession and bench depth for regional and site leadership across both regions.
  • Own retention for the program, with named plans for critical and hard-to-replace individuals.
• Commercial ownership:
  • Own the program-level change order and material scope change position.
  • Own program profit and loss, including forecast accuracy at global level.
  • Own the commercial position on entitlement strategy jointly with the Global Director, Sourcing and Payments.
  • Approve deferment and coverage decisions that carry compliance or contractual consequence.
  • Grow the program through scope expansion, third-party conversion and additional site onboarding.
• Client relationship:
  • Hold the senior client relationship above site and regional level, and present at executive reviews.
  • Partner with client executive stakeholders to align the Renovo asset management strategy with their priority business goals.
  • Present current state of service delivery, key performance indicator performance and forward goals at program governance and quarterly business reviews.
• Vendor management and safety:
  • Escort is a standing expectation of every role on this program.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for self and others when visiting client sites.
  • Complete required safety and compliance training on time.

Qualifications

• Fifteen years or more in laboratory, scientific or medical equipment service, with significant experience leading multi-country operations.
• Proven accountability for a global or multi-region managed service program at contract level.
• Experience operating across more than one workforce transfer regime, including automatic transfer jurisdictions.
• Experience holding a commercial position at contract level, including change orders and scope change.
• Experience in a pharmaceutical, biotechnology or research environment required.
• Experience of a large service transition or contract mobilisation required.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required, in a scientific, technical or business discipline. Advanced degree preferred.
• Training in laboratory safety, GxP and data integrity provided or required.
• Platform and CMMS training provided after hire.
• Training on any site-specific system of record used across the program provided after hire.

• Program-level contractual key performance indicator attainment across both regions.

• One operating model adopted at every site, measured on process conformance rather than intent.
• Global data standard adoption across all systems of record.
• Retention of regional and site leadership, and bench depth behind both.
• Transition delivered to go-live without a lapse in service coverage.
• Client executive satisfaction at program level.
• Program growth through scope expansion and third-party conversion.

Safety Requirements

• Abide by and follow Renovo safety policies, procedures, and injury and illness prevention expectations.
• Maintain a safe working environment for self and others when visiting customer sites, laboratories, offices, or operational environments.
• Follow applicable customer site safety requirements, OSHA guidelines, and laboratory or facility-specific procedures as required.
• Complete required safety training assignments on time.

Physical Requirements

• Predominantly remote, office-based work.
• When on client sites, presence in active laboratory environments including areas with biological, chemical, electrical and cryogenic hazards.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment when on site.
• Travel approximately 30 to 50 percent, across both regions.
