Role Description
The Global Category leader- Flow will report into Global Category Management Team Leader. You will have circa an ~$80M spend portfolio and will be responsible for developing, validating and implementing the global Procurement strategy for sub-categories within the portfolio.
You will work with Procurement Project/Product Leaders, Regional Category Leader, Technology, and Supply Chain Leaders.
- Define a Global Category Strategy for assigned Categories that drives continuous improvement within the Category and benefits to the business
- Develop/Manage Preferred Supplier Network and Strategic Suppliers
- Define Contracting Strategy and lead Supplier Negotiations
- Drive Cash Improvements across assigned Categories
- Mitigate Risks to the business by driving a comprehensive strategy that builds a flexible supply chain and ensures continuity of supply
- Develop Best Cost Country strategy
- Drive supplier relationship management processes
- Report to Leadership on Market Trends and Category Performance
General understanding of Direct material categories and water treatment technologies (products and operations).
Familiarity with market trends and key suppliers in the relevant Categories.
Knowledge of Supply base for Valves, Pipes & Fittings, Instruments, Analyzers, RO Pressure vessels.
Excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills, capable of developing presentations and comfortable interacting with internal/external stakeholders and WTS senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or time-served experience
- Solid experience in Category/Supplier Management, Purchasing, Production Control, Engineering, Product or Project management
- Experience in procurement of items in Flow, Electrical and Instrumentation Category
- Ability to travel - estimated to be 30% annually
