Role Description

Sunflower Bank, N.A. is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of a full-time Compliance Audit Manager. The Compliance Audit Manager is a leadership position within the Internal Audit organization that reports directly to the Chief Audit Executive. This position is responsible for developing, managing, and maintaining the Compliance Internal Audit Program.

  • Understand the vast array of consumer protection regulations applicable to the Bank.
  • Develop an audit plan to assess the associated risk.
  • Manage a combination of internal or external staff in addition to performing a certain level of testing.
  • Ensure the appropriate issues are identified and the Compliance Audit Plan is completed in a timely manner.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting, Economics, Finance, MIS, Law or other relevant field or have 10 plus years of relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum 7 years’ experience in Audit or Internal Audit.
  • Prior Banking Compliance and/or Consumer Protection regulation experience required.
  • Prior experience working with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) regulators and regulations.
  • CIA, CRCM, CERP or other relevant professional designation preferred.
  • Sound professional judgment, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Banking regulatory compliance and/or Consumer protection requirements.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to develop appropriate testing methodologies to achieve credible results.
  • Ability to assess processes and systems and to create and promote practical recommendations for improvement.
  • Ability to proactively determine priorities, plan, organize, and follow through timely on responsibilities.
  • Ability to supervise and mentor staff members.
  • Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and objectivity.
  • Ability to travel to other locations regularly.
  • Prefer prior experience managing staff and/or external audit resources.

Requirements

  • 5-7 years of Prior Banking Compliance and/or Consumer Protection regulation experience required.
  • Compliance Risk and Compliance Manager (CRCM) or prior experience working with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) regulators and regulations.
  • Sound professional judgment, critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
