Role Description
Your contribution to something big:
- Lead the development and implementation of the functional safety case for AI-based automotive features, ensuring compliance with ISO 21488, and ISOPAS8800.
- Collaborate closely with AI engineers, software developers, system architects, and hardware teams to integrate functional safety requirements into the design and development of automotive systems.
- Conduct comprehensive hazard analysis and risk assessment (HARA) to identify and mitigate potential safety risks associated with AI-driven automotive features.
- Develop and maintain detailed safety plans, safety requirements, and safety validation and verification plans specific to automotive applications.
- Perform safety analysis techniques such as Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and Hazard and Operability Study (HAZOP) tailored to automotive systems.
- Ensure traceability of safety requirements throughout the development lifecycle, from concept to production.
- Provide training and guidance to the project team on automotive functional safety principles, best practices within ISO 21488.
- Stay updated with the latest advancements in automotive functional safety and AI technologies, and apply this knowledge to improve safety processes and outcomes.
Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with a focus on automotive applications.
- Certification in functional safety (e.g., TÜV Functional Safety Engineer) is a plus.
- Experience with model-based design and verification in the automotive domain.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in functional safety engineering within the automotive industry.
- In-depth understanding of ISO 21488 and ISO 8800 and its application to automotive systems.
- Experience with AI and machine learning technologies and their integration into automotive safety-critical systems.
- Proficiency in automotive safety analysis techniques (FMEA, FTA, HAZOP).
- Knowledge of automotive software development lifecycle and agile methodologies.
- Experience with safety-critical automotive hardware design and verification.
