Role Description
This role involves leveraging your love for science, research skills, and attention to detail to have a direct impact on the safety of foods imported to the U.S.
- Become a qualified individual and expert in U.S. FDA food safety regulations
- Collaborate with experienced Specialists in the development of plans and programs required by the FDA
- Conduct supplier assessments and attend FDA inspections
- Interact with suppliers globally and colleagues from U.S. and international offices
Qualifications
- A bachelor’s degree or higher education in Food Science or related science degree with a concentration in food safety, food processing, and/or quality control
- 1-2 years’ experience in food safety via training or work experience, PCQI certification preferred
- Bilingual is a plus
Requirements
- Excellent research skills and analytical thinking to conduct hazard analyses and provide recommendations
- Strong reading comprehension and writing skills to review or complete documents and reports
- Attention to detail to identify and address deficiencies in a food safety system
- Effective communication skills for interacting with regulatory bodies, clients, and internal teams
- High level of organization to manage multiple projects simultaneously and complete work independently, correctly, and efficiently
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to advise on and address food safety concerns and needs
