Role Description

This role involves supporting our customers and organization within the Mid Atlantic/South region for Sartorius’ Fluid Management technologies. The individual will play a key role as a trusted business partner to our customers.

As the Field Application Specialist, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the Sales Organization and Sartorius Customers within the Mid Atlantic/South territory
  • Offering product expertise, single-use applications knowledge, and technical support
  • Ensuring successful application, implementation, qualification, and use of Sartorius’ single-use products
  • Supporting Sales and end-users for product positioning, presentations, demonstrations, and evaluations
  • Assisting customers with application development work, initial startup, training, troubleshooting, and ongoing support
  • Working from a home office located near MD/PA to support local business in neighboring states

What you will accomplish together with us:

  • Support the Sales organization with customer discussions on existing products through product presentations, demonstrations, trials, and application studies
  • Support new products through collaboration with beta site testing and product demonstrations/discussions
  • Support Sales in the customer process, URS analysis & technical response, and lead customer evaluations
  • Strategize with assigned Account Managers to generate value-adding activities
  • Occasionally support the training of other field Application Specialists and the Sales organization
  • Provide technical qualification of sales opportunities
  • Ensure training of customers on new technologies and support initial start-up operations
  • Support regional marketing initiatives
  • Support Quality Department in the quality complaint process
  • Develop strong relationships with accounts within the assigned sales territory
  • Report on competitors' product implementation & presence within the territory
  • Monthly report on territory activity for management
  • Occasional overnight travel (~30%) to support customers/sales and attend meetings and trainings

Qualifications

  • BSc or MSc Degree, Graduate in biochemical engineering, chemical engineering, or biotechnology
  • 3-5+ Years biopharmaceutical industry experience within MSAT, cGMP Manufacturing, and/or Tech Transfer teams
  • Proven knowledge of biopharmaceutical industry including biologics process development
  • Single-use technology product and application expertise highly valued
  • Effectively interface with product/project/division management
  • Interaction at various levels (sales, technical, end-users, leaders) within our internal structure as well as our customers
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent in English (additional fluencies are a plus)
  • Self-motivated and a self-starter; strong time management skills
  • Ability to lift up to 30lbs safely
  • Computer proficient in Windows-based software package including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
