Role Description

Covaris, a PerkinElmer Company, is a leader in sample preparation solutions across multiomics research and clinical applications. This position resides within the Covaris Solutions team and will report to Manager, Field Applications-North America. This individual will serve as scientific support liaison in the field for customers and the internal Sales team and will be instrumental in delivering Customer Trainings & Demos for our Sample Preparation, Genomics, Proteomics, and Epigenomics workflow solutions.

In this role, you will provide technical consultation including:

• Providing pre-sales technical interactions and troubleshooting support, in conjunction with the in-house Solutions team.
• Delivering post-sales on-site customer training through classroom instruction, hands-on laboratory sessions, technical lectures, and consultation on sample preparation and analysis recommendations.
• Organizing, planning, and executing on-site product demonstrations to support commercial objectives.
• Partnering with Sales Territory Managers to serve as the scientific subject-matter expert supporting both new and existing customers.
• Representing the organization at trade shows, scientific conferences, and technical symposia.
• Serving as the primary technical contact for customer inquiries through Salesforce.
• Leading technical writing initiatives by defining, organizing, and authoring training materials, protocols, and application notes.
• Collaborating cross-functionally with internal teams to communicate customer feedback and support product positioning.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or a related life sciences discipline preferred.
• Exceptional candidates with a Bachelor’s degree and strong relevant laboratory experience, 2-3+ years of industry experience, will also be considered.
• Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on laboratory experience in academic or industry research environments working with molecular biology workflows.
• Foundational understanding of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) technologies, Proteomics, and DNA/RNA preparation workflows.
• Hands-on experience with NGS library preparation, biomolecule extraction, including nucleic acids or proteins from tissues, FFPE samples, or cultured cells, is highly desirable.
• Exposure to DNA sequence analysis tools and bioinformatics workflows is preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Demonstrated ability to independently troubleshoot experimental workflows.
• Detail oriented and self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
• Highly organized with strong critical thinking skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 70%.
• Customer advocate and able to maintain professionalism in fast-paced environments.

Requirements

• The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $90,000 to $110,000 with a 10% bonus.
• The final base pay offered will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, and individual qualifications.
• The position is based in the Mid-Atlantic area, primarily covering MD, DC, VA, WV, PA, NC, and SC.
• Access to public transport, airport, and proximity to major Research/biotech hub is essential.
