[Hiring] Epic Senior Analyst @University of Miami

Role Description

The University of Miami Health System (“UHealth”) IT Department has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Epic Senior Analyst, HB. The Epic Senior Analyst, HB initiates the implementation, builds, and modifies complex applications, and collaborates with key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application’s configuration, function, and access. The incumbent supports junior staff members in day-to-day operations and resolving application issues.

• Collaborates with key stakeholders, end-users, and application team members to optimize the application’s configuration, function, and access.
• Serves as a primary support contact for application end-users.
• Initiates the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the application.
• Initiates all phases of testing and the documentation of workflow design.
• Performs the analysis of information technology in clinical work processes and validates the impacts to the workflow.
• Initiates the identification of issues and guides the work to resolve them.
• Supports junior staff members in the evaluation and resolution of service tickets, identification and implementation of application changes, retrieval of requested data, and execution of day-to-day operations.
• Collaborates with trainers on application changes and new features to develop documentation and training strategies.
• Works with stakeholders, the business community, and end users to ensure the application meets UHealth's business/clinical needs.
• Participates in on-call rotations and support and attends and participates in applicable committees.
• Maintains regular communication with team members, including participating in weekly project team meetings.
• Reviews the status of projects and issues on an ongoing basis with leadership.
• Remains knowledgeable about UHealth’s policies, procedures, and business operations.
• Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience as an Epic HB Analyst in a healthcare setting, preferred.
• Epic HB certification required; additional Epic certifications (e.g., PB, Resolute) preferred.
• Familiarity with Epic tools such as Chronicles, Clarity, Charge Router, Contracts, WQ, DNB, and Reporting Workbench preferred.
• Experience working in a multi-hospital or integrated delivery network environment preferred.
• Strong understanding of hospital billing workflows and revenue cycle operations preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and project management skills preferred.
• Experience with Epic upgrade cycles, testing, and documentation preferred.
• Familiar with state-of-the-art technology.
• Major systems development and implementation experience.
• Knowledge of CMS regulations, payer requirements, and billing compliance preferred.
• Strong project management, team facilitation and control.
• Ability to communicate ideas and problem solutions.
• Ability to effectively work with people in other departments and/or outside of the enterprise.
• Understanding of Business Intelligence as a field and how the discipline applies to the UM environment.
• Ability to work evenings, nights, and weekends as necessary.
• Proficiency in computer software (i.e. Microsoft Office).
• Ability to recognize, analyze, and solve a variety of problems.
• Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
• Ability to lead, motivate, develop and train others.
• Any appropriate combination of relevant education, experience and/or certifications may be considered.

Requirements

• Firm Knowledge of Micro Strategy software.
• Ability to design effective user interfaces in BI products.
• Other duties as assigned.
