Role Description

APTIM Environmental & Infrastructure, LLC is seeking an Environmental Scientist on a full-time basis in the Seattle, WA area to participate in a variety of environmental compliance tasks in support of our RCRA and state hazardous waste, non-RCRA waste, regulated waste, hazardous materials management, stormwater, and other environmental compliance media including auditing programs. The successful candidate will prepare technical and compliance reports, conduct technical and regulatory analyses, and perform diverse fieldwork, including sampling inspections and audits.

• Execute and manage various work scopes, while meeting project schedules and budgets.
• Collect and interpret/evaluate scientific data.
• Execute field work within project schedule and budgetary goals.
• Use various environmental databases and software to research project/site requirements and document the results in a technical report.
• Work independently and as part of a project team, adjusting to changing conditions or client requirements.
• Adhere to established health and safety policies and procedures, executing work in a safe and conscientious manner.
• Understand technical concepts, evaluation results, plans, reports, and ensure conformance to applicable technical standards.
• Interface with client personnel at a facility level.
• Develop experience, knowledge, and skills in own discipline.
• Be flexible and willing to support other projects as needed.
• Draft technical documents for regulatory agencies and private clients.
• Communicate with regulatory agencies.
• Manage time effectively to ensure a quality product is prepared to meet project deadlines.
• Apply knowledge and skills to a wide range of standard and nonstandard situations.
• Follow defined processes explicitly while identifying and accommodating new or changing scenarios.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, a core science (such as geology, chemistry, physics, or biology), engineering, or related area required.
• Related work experience of 3-4 years.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong computer skills required, including proficiency with Microsoft applications such as MS Excel, MS Word, SharePoint Online.
• Knowledge of RCRA and state hazardous waste, non-RCRA waste, and regulated waste compliance.
• Prior experience or training regarding environmental compliance and related federal and state environmental regulations required.
• Knowledge of multi-media compliance experience (e.g., stormwater, air quality, storage tanks, etc.) is required.
• Experience with auditing is preferred.
