Role Description

We are hiring an Enterprise Solution Architect to own the enterprise and solution architecture for the modernization of a federal home loan benefit program. You will translate statute, policy, and two decades of accumulated business rules into a modern platform while the legacy system remains operational.

Your responsibilities include:

• Defining and defending a coherent enterprise architecture across legacy systems and the modern platform.
• Turning approved requirements into complete solution packages with architecture and state diagrams, data models, API specifications, integration designs, and test strategies.
• Deciding on configuration versus customization in solutions.
• Owning logical and physical data models and migration strategies.
• Designing APIs and system-to-system transfers for integration with lenders and servicers.
• Creating a roadmap for legacy decommissioning.
• Making fast, credible solution judgments based on formal intake processes.
• Incorporating security and compliance as design inputs.
• Running design reviews and mentoring engineers on architectural thinking.
• Utilizing AI tools to enhance architecture and analysis work.

Qualifications

• Deep mortgage domain expertise.
• Experience in both commercial and federal housing agency perspectives.
• Proven track record in enterprise and solution architecture.
• Experience in federal delivery credibility.
• Experience with legacy modernization.
• Demonstrated AI-in-the-loop practice.
• Strong communication skills across different audiences.
• Ability to make judgments under ambiguity.
• U.S.-based and able to obtain and maintain a federal Public Trust clearance.
