[Hiring] Energy Market Advisor @Energy Exemplar

Role Description

We are seeking a highly experienced Energy Market Advisor to join our EMEA Solutions team. This role is ideally suited to someone with deep knowledge of European energy markets who combines strong technical credibility with a highly commercial outlook. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in translating market developments into customer opportunities, compelling go-to-market strategies, and relevant market-facing propositions.

This role is central to our strategy of positioning Energy Exemplar as a trusted strategic advisor to energy-market participants. From day one, the successful candidate will be expected to:

• Track priority markets and understand the short- and long-term drivers of market prices and investment.
• Identify events and structural changes likely to accelerate demand for advanced energy-market modelling and decision support.
• Engage with customers, including utilities, developers, system and market operators, investors, traders, governments, and regulators.
• Work closely with sales and marketing teams to shape market-specific go-to-market strategies.
• Turn market intelligence into clear messaging, campaign themes, and customer conversation starters.
• Support early-stage sales engagement by defining customer problems and articulating the value of PLEXOS.

Key responsibilities include:

• Monitor priority EMEA energy markets and maintain a clear view of factors affecting short-term prices, market operations, and longer-term investment decisions.
• Identify market accelerators, including regulatory decisions, policy changes, price movements, system constraints, investment cycles, and changes in market design.
• Translate complex market developments into clear implications for specific customer segments.
• Work with regional sales and marketing teams to develop market-specific go-to-market strategies.
• Help generate top-of-funnel activity through targeted campaigns, executive roundtables, webinars, events, thought leadership, and account-based engagement.
• Support early-stage customer conversations as a strategic market advisor.
• Clearly articulate how PLEXOS can address a customer’s specific market, planning, or investment challenge.
• Help sales teams develop strong opportunity foundations.
• Develop outcome-led business cases for adopting or expanding PLEXOS.
• Advise customers on establishing or maturing an internal energy-modelling practice.
• Create reusable frameworks, workshop approaches, and executive materials.
• Represent Energy Exemplar at industry events, customer forums, and executive briefings.
• Host webinars and roundtables and contribute articles, blogs, and market commentary.
• Build trusted relationships with customers, prospects, and market stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Substantial experience in energy markets.
• Strong understanding of wholesale market fundamentals, price formation, market design, and drivers of long-term investment.
• Comfortable discussing energy-market modelling and its application to commercial, policy, operational, and system-planning decisions.
• Direct experience with PLEXOS is highly desirable.
• Strong record of engaging senior stakeholders and translating complex analysis into compelling recommendations.
• Excellent written and spoken English; additional EMEA language capability is advantageous.
