Role Description

Position: ELK Architect (ElasticSearch)

Location: 100% Remote

Duration: 6 to 12 Months

Top requirements:

• Expert in setting up elastic cluster from scratch
• Decommissioned and commissioning servers
• Provide guidance on Elastic and new features
• Financial domain not required
• Different versions 6, 7, 8 elastic plan to update to latest 8
• Architect level position; not an admin but architect to set up new routines, cluster expansions, and decommissioning and commissioning on the backend
• Backfill for a person who was let go that was hired a few months ago
• Possible 3 levels of interview:
  • Interview to understand experience
  • Level 2, more technical requirements
  • Possible 3rd level

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience with the ELK Stack: ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana
• Good to have Ruby and/or Python, GIT, and ETL knowledge

Requirements

• Maintaining and supporting Elasticsearch cluster
• Creating cluster from scratch
• Decommissioning and recommissioning servers
• Analyzing and troubleshooting issues with the clusters
• Working with the Elastic Stack
• Evaluating existing Elastic clusters, configuration parameters, indexing, security, and administration
• Maintaining appropriate infrastructure to ensure performance and data integrity
• Keeping Elasticsearch clusters upgraded
• Following best practices
• Ensuring appropriate monitoring and alerting of Elasticsearch
• Understanding of networking to support network-related pipelines
