Role Description

The Director, U.S. Government Affairs is a senior leadership position responsible for developing and executing enterprise-wide federal government affairs, public policy, regulatory engagement, and stakeholder management strategies across FUJIFILM’s U.S. portfolio of businesses.

• Serve as a trusted advisor to executive leadership.
• Identify legislative, regulatory, geopolitical, reputational, and business risks.
• Develop advocacy strategies to mitigate risks and advance policy initiatives.
• Assist in high-level engagement with Congress, the Executive Branch, federal agencies, trade associations, and industry coalitions.
• Requires an accomplished government affairs leader with demonstrated success influencing complex public policy issues.
• Current lobbying experience and registration is required, with experience in the semiconductor or global trade field.
• Ideal candidate should reside in the DC surrounding area.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public policy, Political Science, Government Affairs, Public Administration, Law, Communications, Business Administration, International Relations, or related field required. Masters is a plus.
• Minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in government affairs, public policy, legislative affairs, regulatory affairs, public affairs, corporate affairs, or related fields.
• Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience managing professional staff, consultants, vendors, external advisors, or cross-functional teams.
• Demonstrated success developing and executing federal advocacy campaigns influencing legislative, regulatory, or policy outcomes.
• Significant experience engaging directly with Congress, federal agencies, executive branch officials, national trade associations, and industry coalitions.
• Required experience in trade policy and/or semiconductor policy.
• Strong understanding of the federal legislative, regulatory, appropriations, trade, and administrative policy processes.
• Exceptional written, verbal, presentation, executive briefing, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to operate effectively in a highly matrixed, complex, multinational corporate environment.

Requirements

• Master’s Degree in Public Policy, Public Administration, Political Science, Business Administration, International Affairs, or related field preferred.
• Juris Doctor (JD) strongly preferred.
• Experience supporting advanced manufacturing, healthcare, life sciences, biotechnology, semiconductor, electronic materials, trade, or other highly regulated industries.
• Experience managing large-scale external stakeholder engagement programs, national trade association relationships, lobbying firms, and advocacy coalitions.
• Proven ability to lead transformational initiatives and manage change in complex, matrixed organizations.
• Exceptional negotiation skills with experience in high-stakes government and industry settings.
• Strong capability in developing innovative policy solutions and thought leadership that shape industry standards.
