[Hiring] DB2 System Programmer @Pyramid Consulting

Role Description

Immediate need for a talented DB2 System Programmer. This is a 06+ months contract opportunity with long-term potential and is located in U.S (Remote).

Key Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Db2 for z/OS subsystems.
• Apply maintenance and fixes using SMP/E.
• Administer production and non-production Db2 databases.
• Execute and optimize Db2 utilities, including REORG, RUNSTATS, COPY, RECOVER, LOAD, and REBUILD INDEX.
• Monitor and tune Db2 subsystems, SQL, buffer pools, locking, logging, storage, and application performance.
• Support backup, recovery, high availability, and disaster-recovery testing.
• Troubleshoot production incidents and perform root-cause analysis.
• Support Q Replication, SQL Replication, Change Data Capture, and Db2 Connect.
• Collaborate with application, CICS, storage, security, and z/OS infrastructure teams.
• Follow ITIL incident, problem, change, and release-management processes.
• Maintain technical documentation, implementation plans, and operational procedures.
• Participate in rotational on-call and scheduled after-hours support.

Qualifications

• 10–12+ years of relevant Db2 for z/OS experience (Senior-Level).
• Approximately 3–6 years of relevant mainframe or Db2 experience (Junior-Level).

Requirements

• Key skills: DB2 FOR Z/OS, Z/OS, MAINFRAME, MVS.
• Db2 for z/OS, z/OS, MVS, TSO/ISPF, SDSF, JES2/JES3.
• CICS, IMS, RACF, DFSMS, and SMP/E.
• SQL, COBOL, REXX, CLIST, SAS, or Assembler.
• Q Replication, SQL Replication, and Change Data Capture.
• Db2 Connect and Informatica PowerExchange.
• OMEGAMON, IntelliMagic, MXG, BMC MainView, Apptune, Query Monitor, TMON, Strobe, or Db2PM.
• TWS/OPC, SA z/OS, and NetView.

Benefits

• Pay Range: $67/hr - $67.8/hour.
