[Hiring] Curation Specialist @OpenSesame

2d ago - OpenSesame is hiring a remote Curation Specialist. πŸ’Έ Salary: unspecified πŸ“Location: UK

Role Description

Most people see a marketplace of over 60,000 training courses. We build something bigger: the chance for companies across the world to upgrade the skills of every employee they have. Global 2000 companies across the region rely on our training programs to build their most productive and admired workforces, and we back that trust with strategic partnerships.

The Curation Team turns a broad, global learning marketplace into focused, effective learning experiences for EMEA customers, prospects, and publishers. As a Curation Specialist, you will pair strong marketplace knowledge with a consultative approach to recommend the right content, build curated programs, and help EMEA customers make progress toward their workforce development goals β€” while accounting for the region's language diversity, local compliance needs (including GDPR), and varied working cultures.

What You Will Do

  • Translate the learning goals of EMEA customers and prospects into high-quality course mappings, curated lists, learning paths, and other recommendations that make the OpenSesame marketplace easy to use.
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the EMEA Sales and Customer Success teams, and bring marketplace expertise to customer conversations, pre-sales calls, RFPs, and presentations across the region.
  • Create reusable programs, resources, documentation, and best practices that let OpenSesame deliver curation value consistently across EMEA markets and at scale.
  • Share marketplace and learning-industry insights relevant to EMEA with internal teams, and contribute to customer-facing resources, webinars, or other thought-leadership efforts.
  • Manage a portfolio of EMEA publisher relationships: act as the primary point of contact, coordinate internal support, share constructive feedback, and identify opportunities to strengthen the publisher offering in the region.
  • Surface content gaps, quality issues, and opportunities that improve how EMEA customers discover and use learning content β€” including content localized for the region's languages and regulatory requirements.
  • Keep requests, project details, and stakeholder communication organized and current in the team's operating systems. Deliver clear updates and dependable follow-through in a fast-moving environment, across time zones spanning the EMEA region.
  • Contribute to cross-functional initiatives aligned to team and company priorities, including improvements to curation processes, product experiences, and go-to-market enablement for EMEA.
  • Overlap your working hours with core EMEA business hours to stay accessible to regional customers, publishers, and colleagues.
  • Travel as needed for department and full-team events, both within EMEA and, occasionally, to global company gatherings β€” typically less than 10% of your time.

Performance Objectives

  • Within 30 Days: Build a comprehensive understanding of the OpenSesame curation process and tools. Identify the needs of EMEA customers and see where curation fits into their journey.
  • Within 60 Days: Establish yourself as the internal and external expert on OpenSesame's course offering for the EMEA region. Perform course mappings for EMEA customers regularly and navigate the OpenSesame catalog skillfully on a daily basis. Establish relationships with at least 5 publishers serving the region.
  • Within 90 Days: Complete curation projects on behalf of 50 unique EMEA customers, and establish relationships with at least 15 publishers serving the region. Curate elearning course curricula confidently to support the launch and expansion of customer training initiatives across EMEA markets.
  • Within 120 Days: Complete curation requests consistently. Serve as each publisher's primary point of contact within OpenSesame, and coordinate internal efforts to support and maintain strong, ongoing publisher relationships across the region.
  • Within 1 year: Build strong relationships with 10 or more EMEA publishers, and earn consistently positive feedback from customers and internal stakeholders. Support EMEA customers at every stage of the course curation process, and create actionable project plans based on their unique business skills training goals.
  • Within 18 months: Become the go-to resource on the team for questions related to OpenSesame's business skills catalog in EMEA. Think strategically about curation, and identify opportunities to develop programs that help EMEA customers curate at scale. Earn trust as an expert for both internal and external stakeholders across the region.
  • Within 2 years: Earn promotion to Senior Curation Specialist, EMEA, after building a reputation of excellence with regional publishers, customers, and OpenSesame teammates.
