Role Description

AgriSompo has a unique opportunity for an Area Claims Supervisor on our Great Lakes team. This job is primarily responsible for ensuring completion of Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI), Private Product and Named Peril crop claims within assigned territory. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Developing and training staff.
• Developing and maintaining internal communications to ensure efficient claims service.
• Serving as the local expert to provide guidance on claims adjusting issues and questions/concerns.

What you’ll be doing:

• Build and maintain professional relationships with the Regional Leadership team and other departments to ensure open and effective communication.
• Stay abreast of and understand growth and growth potential.
• Compile and provide information to the Regional Claim Manager regarding claims related developments.
• Ensure efficient use of resources in the management of budget.
• Track claim productivity data for use in performance management and various business decisions.
• Identify training gaps/needs for area claims staff and forward to RCM and Claims Training.
• Work with staff to ensure claims are being closed and paid within the established service level goal.
• Provide guidance and serve as an informational resource for adjusters.
• Oversee staffing and job development activities.
• Exhibit qualities consistent with company philosophies to ensure exemplary levels of service.
• Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Required – High school diploma or equivalent or equivalent training and work experience.
• Preferred – Bachelor’s degree in business, management, or agriculture.

Requirements

• Required – 5 years’ crop insurance claim experience.
• Preferred – 2+ years’ supervisory/management experience.
• Required – Valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record to meet company requirements.
• Required – Licensing and CAPP certification in accordance with FCIC and State requirements.
• Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to complete documentation requirements.
• Ability to utilize analytical thinking; find facts and solve problems.
• Ability to remain self-motivated and efficient.
• Ability to work both in an office setting and outdoors in a farm environment.
• Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment.
• Ability to remain focused on exceptional customer service.
• Working knowledge of crop insurance regulations, policies, procedures and best practices.
• Works effectively under pressure and able to work within tight deadlines.
• Willingness to take initiative and work with minimal supervision.
• Strong time management skills with ability to prioritize.
