Role Description

We're looking for a CMDB Manager/Configuration Management Manager for a remote role.

The ideal candidate will be an ITOM leader who can bridge technical and executive audiences, drive CMDB maturity, manage a team, and clearly explain why configuration management matters. Strategic impact is a high priority.

Qualifications

• 5 years of experience in IT service management, configuration management, CMDB administration, IT asset management, infrastructure operations, or a related technology discipline, including experience leading process improvement or governance initiatives
• Strong ServiceNow ITOM background
• Deep knowledge of CMDB architecture and administration, discovery, and configuration management best practices
• Have stood up a CMDB, driven maturity, stabilized operations, and executed a roadmap
• Ability to manage people while staying technically credible
• Can explain what a CMDB is, why it matters, and how it supports the business
• Strong communication skills and ability to present confidently to leadership and business partners
• Moves easily between architects, the CTO, and non-technical stakeholders
• Strong knowledge of ITIL practices, IT service management processes, configuration management principles, CMDB governance, data quality management, service mapping, discovery, and configuration item lifecycle management
• Banking/Financial background preferred but not required

Requirements

• U.S. citizens and Green Card holders only. Sponsorship is not available for this role; no C2C or third-party candidates.
• Candidates must be able to work on our W2.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and lead the CMDB in ServiceNow, including how records use it and how it connects across the enterprise, from apps to hardware.
• Stand up the program, fix documentation gaps, and then build a roadmap and scale it.
• Clearly convey to leadership and business partners what the CMDB is and why it matters.
• Lead the enterprise configuration management practice, including CMDB strategy, governance, standards, policies, procedures, operating model, and roadmap execution.
• Oversee CMDB data quality, completeness, accuracy, reconciliation, relationship mapping, lifecycle management, and ongoing health metrics.
• Partner with ITSM process owners, service owners, infrastructure teams, application teams, security, audit, and asset management teams to define configuration item scope, ownership, data requirements, and dependency relationships.
• Support incident, problem, change, release, asset, risk, audit, and service management processes by ensuring trusted configuration data is available for impact analysis, reporting, and operational decision-making.
• Manage CMDB-related reporting, dashboards, controls, audits, compliance monitoring, and continuous improvement activities to increase CMDB maturity and stakeholder adoption.

Education/Certifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Management Information Systems, or a related field required; equivalent work experience may be considered.
• Preferred certifications or training: ITIL Foundation, ServiceNow, CMDB, ITSM/ITOM.
