Role Description

The Claims Supervisor is responsible for direct oversight of Claims staff, claims processing workflows, queue management, and daily transactional operations. This includes:

• Coordinating work-flow and leading efforts in error reduction.
• Supporting team members with claim payment procedures.
• Completing special projects and overseeing team performance.
• Providing supervision and support of staff.
• Offering feedback to the Claims Leadership Team regarding identified processing trends.
• Ensuring claims processing turnaround times and quality benchmarks are achieved.

Functional Competencies include:

• Ensuring direct oversight of Claims staff and completion of annual performance reviews.
• Applying knowledge of claims processing workflows and regulatory requirements.
• Managing claims inventory and making recommendations for improving outcomes.
• Training, orienting, mentoring, and providing performance guidance to staff.
• Assisting management in resolving aged claims.
• Identifying opportunities for improvement plans.
• Supporting audit activity as needed.
• Communicating timely with internal stakeholders regarding pending deliverables.
• Creating, maintaining, and distributing inventory and production reporting.
• Leading and facilitating Claims Team huddles and meetings.
• Assisting with special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum 3 years of claim processing experience required.
• 2+ years of prior supervisory or leadership experience.
• Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, and/or Commercial insurance terminology.
• Intermediate in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Word, and Adobe.
• Ability to work flexible hours to accommodate business needs.
• Maintain internet service that allows completion of essential job duties.

Requirements

• Knowledge of CPT, HCPC, Dental and diagnosis coding.
• Ability to pivot between competing priorities and execute responsibilities within tight deadlines.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
