Role Description

By joining our firmwide IT project management team, you will serve as the bridge between business stakeholders and technology teams, ensuring that business needs are clearly understood, documented, and translated into effective technology and process solutions. Working closely with lawyers, legal professionals, business services teams, vendors, and IT staff, the Business Analyst identifies opportunities to improve operational efficiency, client service delivery, risk management, and knowledge sharing through technology and process enhancements.

• Business Analysis & Requirements Management: Gather, analyze, document, and manage business requirements to ensure solutions align with stakeholder needs and strategic objectives.
• Process Improvement: Evaluate and redesign business processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery.
• Solution Evaluation & Implementation: Assess, recommend, and support the implementation of technology solutions that address business challenges and opportunities.
• Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with business and technical stakeholders to facilitate collaboration, communication, and consensus.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Ensure solutions meet business requirements through comprehensive testing, validation, and user acceptance activities.
• Change Management & Adoption: Support organizational change by developing communications, training, and adoption strategies that maximize user engagement and value realization.
• Project Support: Partner with project managers and delivery teams to identify risks, manage dependencies, and contribute to successful project outcomes.
• Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyze business data and metrics to provide insights, support decision-making, and measure business outcomes.
• Documentation & Governance: Create and maintain accurate business, process, and system documentation while supporting governance and compliance requirements.
• Legal Technology Enablement: Work with lawyers and business services teams to optimize legal workflows and maximize the value of legal technology investments.

Qualifications

• University or college degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, Computer Science, or CCBA, CBAP, PMI-PBA or PMP certification.
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in a law firm, professional services firm or legal technology.
• Experience in supporting enterprise software implementations and business transformation initiatives.
• Strong understanding of requirements gathering methodologies and business process analysis with attention to detail.
• Experience working with legal technology, document management systems, Microsoft 365, workflow solutions is considered an asset.
• Strong knowledge of business process modelling and workflow analysis, requirements management tools and methodologies.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 technologies including SharePoint, Teams, Power Platform, Copilot.
• Analytical, critical thinking and strong problem-solving skills.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and excellent facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
• Customer service oriented.
