[Hiring] BESS Development Manager @SunStrong Management

Role Description

The BESS Development Manager originates and advances GoodFinch’s battery storage pipeline, both standalone projects and storage co-located with or retrofitted to existing solar assets, from site screening through ready-to-build and handoff to Project Delivery.

• Owns the interconnection, permitting, land, and commercial workstreams that determine whether a project is financeable and buildable.
• Works with utilities and ISOs/RTOs, AHJs, landowners, offtakers, OEMs, and Finance, Legal, and Tax.
• Responsible for operability decisions made at origination.
• Willingness to stop a project if it does not meet criteria.
• Recommends and prepares investment approval and execution of binding agreements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, engineering, renewable energy, or related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience. MBA preferred.
• Five or more years in renewable energy development, including at least [insert threshold] years of battery storage or solar-plus-storage development.
• Demonstrated working knowledge of interconnection processes in one or more U.S. ISO/RTO or utility jurisdictions.
• Working knowledge of storage revenue structures.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Working understanding of storage technology and safety fundamentals.
• Experience negotiating land agreements and commercial contracts.
• Demonstrated written precision.
• Experience developing storage at existing operating solar sites preferred.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel as needed.
