Role Description

We are looking for an Application Scientist in Bioinformatics to join our commercial organization. Standing at the intersection of bioinformatics and system operations, you will support our customers through their journey with VarSome, from:

• Pre-sales discussions
• Platform onboarding
• Post-sales support with cloud and on-premises deployments
• Finding new opportunities for further growth

You will play a key role in shaping and delivering solutions to our direct and indirect customers. Qualifications

• A Master’s or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, or a related field.
• Hands-on experience in bioinformatics, including NGS secondary and/or tertiary analysis workflows.
• A solid grasp of variant classification frameworks and a deep understanding of bioinformatics and IT workflows.
• The ability to simplify complex bioinformatics and technical infrastructure concepts for researchers, clinicians, and IT professionals.
• Proficiency in English is a must. Fluency in other languages (e.g. Mandarin, Japanese or Korean) will be considered as a plus.

Requirements

• Previous background in a bioinformatics software company or experience in DevOps/SysAdmin roles.
• Familiarity with working in regulated environments, such as IVDR, CLIA/CAP, or similar standards.
• Proven experience in multicultural environments and/or supporting international customers in a scale-up setting.
