[Hiring] Akamai Engineer @ZipStaff

Role Description

ZipStaff is seeking an Akamai Engineer to support large-scale application onboarding at a major pharmacy and healthcare organization. You will configure Property Manager, onboard applications to the CDN and edge, assist with WAF and origin lockdown, and validate production deployments under senior engineers. This is an implementation seat — not the primary architect and not a monitoring-only role.

• Onboard applications in the Akamai portal under established standards.
• Configure and maintain Property Manager configurations.
• Assist with Akamai WAF and edge security controls.
• Implement approved origin-lockdown and origin-protection configurations.
• Test, validate, and deploy Akamai configurations to production.
• Troubleshoot Akamai, DNS, TLS, and connectivity issues during onboarding.
• Support releases, cutovers, and post-deployment stabilization.
• Document procedures and configurations.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years hands-on Akamai experience.
• Direct configuration in the Akamai portal, including Property Manager.
• Application onboarding to Akamai CDN and edge services.
• Production deployment support and troubleshooting on Akamai.
• Working with application teams during onboarding and validation.
• Fundamentals of web delivery, WAF, edge security, origin lockdown, and TLS/SSL certificate management.
• DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, CDN, and reverse-proxy concepts.
• U.S. Citizen or Green Card only.
• No sponsorship.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Qualifications

• Akamai Application & API Protector (AAP), Bot Manager, or Edge DNS.
• Imperva-to-Akamai migration.
• Large-scale onboarding or migration programs.
• Python, REST APIs, GitHub, or Terraform awareness.
• AWS or GCP exposure.
