[Hiring] Assistant Account Executive @Brilliant

Role Description

Brilliant is looking for a full-time Assistant Account Executive to join our fast-moving, award-winning agency. The ideal candidate brings 1+ years of full-time agency experience in consumer products PR or integrated marketing, strong organizational skills, and real curiosity about new technology and AI.

The Assistant Account Executive executes public relations strategies to achieve client goals while keeping the day-to-day details organized and on track. The role spans client communication, media relations, creative ideation, trend jacking, and project support.

What You'll Do

• Media Relations:
  • Pull, build, and maintain media and influencer databases
  • Regularly identify new editor and freelancer contacts through tools like Qwoted and by subscribing to Substacks
  • Draft and distribute pitches, press releases, and media alerts, then follow up and monitor for coverage
  • Contribute creative pitch angles that break through with top-tier national outlets
  • Support dedicated affiliate and ecommerce pitching
  • Coordinate media interviews and develop spokesperson briefing documents
  • Build real relationships with key journalists and influencers
  • Monitor trends daily and turn them into fast trend-jacking opportunities
  • Conduct competitor coverage monitoring
• Awards:
  • Track client media awards programs, including research, recommendations, submission applications, and deadline management
• Project Management:
  • Coordinate project, campaign, and account timelines and deliverables
  • Track progress and communicate status to internal teams and clients
  • Use project management tools such as Monday or Asana to keep workflows transparent
• Technology & AI:
  • Use AI tools like Claude or ChatGPT to support research, drafting, monitoring, and reporting
  • Test new software and platforms, and share what works with the team
  • Spot chances to automate routine tasks and raise the quality of the output
• Events / Activations:
  • Assist with research, planning, and execution of virtual and live media and influencer press events, creative media mailers, and more

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, or a related field
• 1+ years of PR agency experience in the consumer goods industry
• Experience managing timelines and deliverables across multiple accounts at once
• Comfortable using AI tools day to day, with examples of how you've used them
• A real willingness to try new technologies and adopt new tools quickly
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• A proactive, self-starter attitude with a passion for staying ahead of trends

Salary

$48,000 - $58,000. This role includes a six-month performance review. Employees who meet all agreed-upon goals are eligible for a $5,000 base salary increase.
