[Hiring] Technical Content Specialist @Censys

Role Description

Censys is hiring a Technical Content Specialist to help customers and internal teams understand Censys products. This role involves:

• Owning the learning content and hands-on exercises in the Censys Academy LMS.
• Building product documentation, videos, and interactive capture-the-flag (CTF) exercises.
• Teaching users how to defend critical infrastructure and hunt threats at internet scale.
• Translating technical information into engaging learning experiences.

What You’ll Do:

• Learning Content & LMS:
  • Plan, develop, write, and manage interactive learning content for the Censys LMS.
  • Transform instructor-led training (ILT) content into engaging, self-paced eLearning experiences.
  • Work with subject matter experts to design interactive CTF learning exercises.
• Product Documentation:
  • Assist in creating, editing, and publishing product documentation.
  • Create processes for keeping existing technical content current.
• Video & Multimedia:
  • Produce video content covering new feature releases and real-world product use cases.
  • Choose the right format for the message based on user learning needs.
• Teaching the Why, Not Just the How:
  • Teach users the value of the product and its relevance to their work.
  • Build domain fluency to explain how Censys supports various workflows.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Participate in feature development and testing to improve enablement content.
  • Partner with various teams to ensure content aligns with customer goals.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in technical writing, instructional design, or content development.
• Experience building content for an LMS or eLearning platform.
• Strong writing skills to translate complex product functionality into clear content.
• Experience producing or coordinating video content.
• Comfortable learning technical products and translating that knowledge into teachable content.
• Strong project management skills to manage multiple workstreams and deadlines.
• Excellent collaboration skills with experience working across various teams.
• Demonstrates curiosity and sound judgment in applying AI.

Preferred

• Familiarity with cybersecurity concepts such as attack surface management.
• Experience designing capture-the-flag (CTF) exercises.
• Experience with video editing tools and eLearning authoring tools.
• Experience converting instructor-led training into self-paced digital content.
• Familiarity with product documentation tools and publishing workflows.
