Role Description
This role owns the twenty minutes that builders experience when they first interact with Clumio. You are a content engineer who runs the code, builds examples, breaks workflows, and writes clear documentation that ensures success on the first try.
You will collaborate with the Cloud Native product organization and work closely with engineering, product, and growth teams. Your work will be pivotal in converting trials into successful product adoptions.
What Youβll Do:
-
Own the Content That Sells the Product
-
Write and maintain Clumio documentation including getting-started paths, service protection guides, API and SDK references, and recovery runbooks.
-
Build the fastest possible path to first value for builders.
-
Author deep technical guides on key workloads, addressing cost, scale, recovery time, and potential issues.
-
Own the technical narrative in AWS Marketplace listings and in-product onboarding copy.
-
Build It Before You Write About It
-
Ship and maintain working example repositories: Terraform modules, CloudFormation templates, scripts, and sample integrations.
-
Test every documented workflow in a real AWS environment.
-
Build hands-on lab and GameDay content for AWS events.
-
Produce short technical demos and walkthroughs.
-
Write for How Builders Actually Find Things
-
Create content that ranks in search and is cited by AI assistants.
-
Identify and answer the questions builders have about cloud data protection.
-
Turn customer-scale reality into public proof.
-
Close the Loop with Product and Growth
-
Instrument and monitor content performance metrics.
-
Partner with growth on onboarding experiments.
What Success Looks Like
-
Builders reach first value in a trial without human help.
-
Docs and guides are a measurable source of qualified signups.
-
Every AWS service Clumio protects has a current, tested guide.
-
Support tickets for basic questions decrease significantly.
Your First 90 Days
-
Week 1: Run the trial as a new user and document any obstacles.
-
Day 30: Ship a rebuilt getting-started path and at least one tested example repo.
-
Day 90: Own the content roadmap and show measurable movement on activation.
Qualifications
-
4+ years in a developer-facing technical role (technical writing, developer relations, solutions engineering, etc.).
-
Ability to write code and prose, validating the former before publishing the latter.
-
Working fluency in AWS services (S3, IAM, DynamoDB, RDS, EC2).
-
Hands-on experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or CDK).
-
Fluency in docs-as-code practices (Git, Markdown/MDX).
-
Instinct for anticipating reader confusion and addressing it in writing.
-
Demonstrated technical content that has shipped and made an impact.
Nice to Have
-
Background in data protection, storage, data engineering, or lakehouse architectures.
-
Experience at a product-led company where documentation was a growth channel.
-
AWS certification or a personal AWS account with a relevant billing history.
-
Experience with docs analytics or optimizing content for AI retrieval.
Benefits
-
High income earning opportunities based on self-performance.
-
Employee stock purchase plan (ESPP).
-
Continuous professional development and product training.
-
Generous global benefits.
