Role Description
This role involves working within the Production Department in the Celebrity Magazine & Supplements Hub to ensure all copy is fact checked and grammatically correct, always adhering to the house style.
- Ensure content is engaging, entertaining, and original
- Rewrite copy when necessary to enhance quality
- Ensure all pictures are credited correctly
- Write accurate captions for pages, ensuring easy navigation
- Create punchy headlines, standfirsts, and pull quotes
- Help maintain and communicate clear brand identities for all magazine titles
This role typically involves working Monday to Friday, 10am - 6pm shifts, though some flexibility is required around busy press days.
Qualifications
- NCTJ qualified journalist and experienced sub editor
- Proven track record of subbing celebrity-focused content, ideally in a fast-paced weekly magazine environment
- Excellent understanding of the OK!, New!, Notebook, S, and Love Sunday brands
- Demonstrable experience subbing print content
- First-class copy-editing skills
- Ability to keep up with the pace of subbing multiple magazines a week
- Quick and accurate fact-checking skills
- Ability to meet deadlines with ease
