[Hiring] SEO Content Writer / Proofreader @Digital Shift

Role Description

At Digital Shift, the writing is the product. We're hiring a full-time SEO Content Writer / Proofreader, reporting to our Content Lead. SEO writing is the core of the role, with additional responsibilities including:

• Editing teammates' work
• Checking facts before anything ships
• Publishing in the CMS
• Sending the finished page to the client

Your work gets read, and the Content Lead and senior editors review every draft, providing feedback on changes made. You'll take content from brief to live page while adding editing, fact-checking, publishing, and client communication to your writing.

Qualifications

• 1 to 3+ years of professional content writing experience, ideally for websites or other digital platforms
• A university degree or college diploma in English, Journalism, Communications, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• Excellent written English and a sharp proofreading eye
• Familiarity with SEO basics and Canadian or US spelling conventions
• Comfort with Google Docs, Grammarly, and AI tools for research and outlining
• Clear email writing and reliable time management

Requirements

• Research home service topics and write accurate, useful blog posts, service pages, and marketing copy
• Turn briefs into well-structured drafts with headlines that earn clicks
• Proofread your own work and teammates' content for grammar, spelling, punctuation, tone, and consistency
• Verify services, locations, names, and claims, and flag unsupported or possibly plagiarized content
• Coordinate drafts and approvals with clients, and keep feedback and deadlines on track
• Format, publish, and update approved content in WordPress or Crownpeak
