Role Description
The Senior Proposal Quality and Editing Specialist performs critical quality and copy editing reviews of all managed care proposals developed and submitted by AmeriHealth Caritas. They take exclusive responsibility for higher-stakes projects as assigned by the Copy Editing Manager and drive forward internal projects, process updates, and regular maintenance tasks. Major accountabilities include:

RFx response copy editing and project management:

Act as Lead Copy Editor for assigned RFx opportunities, including conducting proposal pre-work, hosting pre-editing meetings, assigning response files for copy editing, and providing research support for editors during live passes.

Keep all state-specific quality and editing materials updated throughout the proposal lifecycle.

Act as language and style SME for the proposal and provide overall project management for all RFx copy editing activities.

Analyze state materials for proposal requirements and preferred language.

Copy edit all assigned RFx response and post-submission files as outlined by our process documents and checklists.

Follow and enforce the Style Guide throughout the proposal lifecycle.

Support the Production Team in preparing specialized proposal deliverables.

Participate in page turns and final quality checks of all proposals prior to submission.

Non-RFx activities:
-
Support the Production, Knowledge Management, and Services teams by copy-editing internal materials as requested.

Complete all assigned copy editing tasks according to their scope and deadline.

Directly support the Fit for Growth initiative “Generative AI for Growth” by assisting the Manager with deliverables related to prompt engineering.

Work with the Services Team to share updated copy editing templates across SharePoint opportunity sites.

Lead efforts to update all Style Guide perishable data according to our maintenance task schedule by working with SMEs in Legal, Information Solutions, and Creative Services and Brand.

Collaborate with other members of the Copy Editing Team to ensure current Corporate Editorial Style Standards, Inclusive Language Guide, and AP Stylebook direction are captured in our internal resources and then socialized to stakeholders.

Drive efforts to create and improve processes, checklists, and other internal copy-editing resources.

Maintain proficiency with Microsoft Office, SharePoint, and Adobe Acrobat Professional to create and/or review materials.

Develop and pursue 1 to 2 personal goals each year to advance their skills in technical proficiency, interpersonal communication, leadership, generative AI, or others related to copy editing success.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree (Required)

3 to 5 years of experience copy-editing in a highly regulated environment.

Proficiency with Microsoft 365.

Experience adhering to and enforcing style guides, corporate brand standards, and/or state proposal requirements.

Successfully managing projects with varying scopes, timelines, and deliverables.

Strong skills related to intra- and inter-team collaboration, particularly in a remote work environment.

Ability and willingness to learn new skills and technologies critical to performing job duties.

Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed to meet deadlines.
