Role Description
The Legal Technical Writer I position is to support the Company’s Document Management Program. In this role, you will support Company leaders and attorneys by developing, drafting, and implementing Company policies, process guidelines and job aids.
- Become a subject matter expert in your assigned areas of the business.
- Provide valuable feedback and guidance in developing policies, process guidelines and job aids.
- Ensure that all documents developed are accurate, current, clear, concise, compliant, and consistent.
- Support other areas of the business with document development as needed.
- Work with business leaders and stakeholders to set clear expectations and deadlines for document development milestones.
- Timely deliver new and/or amended policies, process guidelines and job aids.
- Assist with the administration of the Company’s Document Library and Document Submission Tool.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism or related major AND relevant experience.
- 4+ years of actual experience as a technical writer or in a related field will be considered if education requirements are not met.
- Ability to independently engage senior leaders in a confident and professional manner.
- Ability to quickly learn and become a subject matter expert in new systems/processes.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to understand and act on information promptly and effectively.
- Organized and capable of meeting deadlines.
- Self-driven, motivated to help, and able to perform with minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Professional.
Requirements
- Experience in a Communications or Technical Writing role (Corporate Communications, technical writer, publication editor, newsletter, etc.) is preferred.
