Role Description

You’ll be joining our Digital Content Team, a small but mighty team of five writers and digital content specialists creating engaging content for some of the UK’s most-loved radio brands, including Hits Radio, Greatest Hits Radio, KISS and Magic Radio. The team works remotely across the UK, collaborating daily to deliver entertainment content that drives audience engagement, traffic and revenue across our websites and social channels.

This is a supportive, fast-moving and highly collaborative team that lives and breathes entertainment news, you'll be working alongside colleagues who are passionate about creating content audiences genuinely want to read and share.

Working Monday to Friday, as our TV and Showbiz Writer, you'll play a key role in creating and curating engaging entertainment content across the websites and social channels of Bauer Audio's radio brands. Due to the nature of news, there will be the occasional out of hours requirement.

You'll be responsible for identifying the stories that matter to our audiences and ensuring our brands remain trusted and entertaining destinations online. Whether it's a breaking celebrity story, the latest reality TV headline, a new drama launch or a longer-form entertainment feature, you'll know how to create compelling content that resonates with readers.

This is a fast-paced role where you'll need to react quickly to breaking news, identify opportunities before they peak, and consistently deliver content that drives engagement across both web and social platforms.

Qualifications

• A genuine passion for writing, online storytelling, TV, entertainment and showbiz news.
• Professional experience writing and publishing digital content, with examples of published work you can share.
• Experience using a CMS and a strong understanding of digital journalism, SEO and audience-focused content.
• The ability to identify stories that will resonate with audiences and adapt your writing style for different brands, platforms and audiences.
• The ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure, reacting to breaking news and tight deadlines.
• Experience creating and publishing content across social media, including Facebook.
• Experience using Photoshop or other image-editing software to prepare imagery for digital and social content.
• Strong editorial judgement, attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accuracy while working at pace.
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach to working across editorial, digital and social teams.
• A strong understanding of the TV and showbiz landscape, from scripted dramas and reality TV to celebrity, music and wider entertainment trends.

Requirements

• Writing, editing and publishing engaging TV, entertainment, showbiz and lifestyle articles across Bauer Audio brands.
• Monitoring entertainment news sources, social media and other relevant platforms to identify and react quickly to breaking stories and developing news.
• Keeping across the latest stories from fictional TV dramas, reality television, celebrity and music, spotting opportunities for both quick-turnaround news stories and longer-form entertainment features.
• Working to tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy, editorial standards and a strong sense of what will resonate with different audiences.
• Creating and scheduling content for social platforms, ensuring posts are on-brand and optimised for engagement.
• Selecting, cropping and editing eye-catching imagery to complement articles and social posts.
• Adapting content and headlines for different Bauer brands, audiences and digital platforms.
• Collaborating with teams across the business to share and distribute content effectively.
• Contributing ideas and supporting an innovative, collaborative and fast-moving digital editorial team.
• Upholding Bauer's brand values through every piece of content you produce.
